Savage ring trigger, .36 caliber percussion Civil War issue percussion revolver with 6 shot cylinder and 7 1/8” octagon barrel. The pistol shows an “H” inspection and partial cartouche on the left grip, serial number 12692. The metal surfaces show a smooth patina finish with strong traces of blue mixed in perhaps as much as 20% to 40% which is toning and aging. There is some scattered light to moderate pitting and most of the pitting is on the firing areas of the cylinder. The grips aregood to very good with the outline of the cartouche but shows no initials. The address on top of the frame is sharp and crisp and the action works well. There is traces of case hardening on the hammer and the ring. The cone front sight isretained. A considerably better than average Savage. William A. Gary collection consigned by his estate. Est.: $1250-$2500
