Cal. 22LR. S# No. 101. Bbl. 24" marked behind front sight "SA flaming bomb 4-42". Bbl. marked on left side over chamber "LONG RIFLE CART'GE ONLY". Bbl. is marked on bottom "REP 6". Lyman 48 rear sight w/ early style knobs. Slide graduated to 125 points. Numbers match on slide & base. Redfield globe front sight fitted for interchangeable apertures. Sight is mounted on Springfield fixed base. The receiver ring marked w/ "7 22" / "EX." / "NO.101". Receiver bolt way is in the white. Receiver is milled for the 22 cal. mag. Magazine retaining latch is not present. Receiver & bbl. are not drilled for scope bases. Bright bolt. Bolt handle is marked on top "NS" & underneath w/ "2". Solid locking lug marked "M2". Ejector is marked "C 3998". Standard safety M2 type knurled cocking piece. Smooth double stage trigger. Standard trigger guard & floorplate. Unmarked walnut Model 1922 buttstock w/ cupped sporter type checkered buttplate. MAGS: NONE. CONDITION: stock retains approx. 80% original finish w/ light wear & scattered scratches & handling marks throughout. Notable scratches on left side over trigger guard and sm. repaired chip on left side of forend behind bbl. band. Metal has 80% arsenal type rework dark parkerized finish leaving the bottom of the bolt raceway bright. Number 48 rear sight has arsenal rework blue finish. Front sight has thinning, worn, original blue w/ notable sm. dents on the right side at dovetail. Very good shiny bore. PROVANANCE: from the Estate Collection of Thomas J. Mulligan. (23-1218/RW).
