SCROLL AND RELIEF GOLD INLAID GAME SCENES BY R. GOLINI. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". S# C11993B (1989). The 28" monobloc barrels fitted with matted ventilated rib have fixed modified & full chokes. "P. Beretta-ITALY" is on left side of top barrel. Bottom of monobloc is stamped with 1989 Italian nitro proofs and grade. Grade marking is also on flat of coin finished sidelock action which features gold plated single non-selective trigger. Action is engraved with full coverage dramatically shaded large open acanthus scroll with some floral highlights which surrounds oval game scenes with bullino backgrounds, major subjects are relief gold inlaid and very nicely detailed. A pair of pintail ducks rise out of a marsh on left lockplate and a pair of mallards are flying over a marsh on right. A ring-neck pheasant takes wing from hilltop on bottom of action. Forend iron mortice is engraved with patent info and "MADE IN ITALY". Maker's name is on ribbon above pheasant scene. Top lever is gold inlaid with a sovereigns crown; thumb piece is pierced. Model is engraved in banner on double beaded trigger guard tang. Engraver's signature "R. Golini" is on trigger plate. Oil finished pistol grip buttstock is made from a fine piece of smokey marbled and lightly figured European walnut and measures 14-5/8" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching one piece field forend has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2-1/8". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-5/8". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 4 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in a blue ABS Beretta embossed case, which is foam lined. Case contains: paperwork, snap caps, some cleaning equipment and Beretta oil. CONDITION: very fine. Appears to be used very little, with no firing halos on breech face. Bores are bright and only a few scattered assembly and handling marks are on wood and metal finishes; most notably some forend chatter marks on barrels not visible when gun is assembled. Mechanically crisp. Case is very fine. Currently, this is the next to the top of the line Beretta, it retails for over $78,000 before optional special engraving. (23-4815/MGM). MODERN. $17,500-25,000.
