SPRINGFIELD M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 7.62 Nato. S# 2633656. Bbl. 24" marked on right side "SA 110104575 66 BU18". Stamped "7.62MM". Additionally stamped w/ "H & R P 7.62 NATO DEFENCE ACCEPTANCE EAGLE". These rifles were rebarreled in the years 1965-66 by "AMF" & "H&R" to the 7.62 Nato cartridge using standard M1 Garand rifles. The rifles were then given the designation "U.S. Rifle Navy MKII Mod 1 Cal. 7.62MM." The muzzle gauges 1.0. "Locking Bar" Aperture rear sight w/ battle range elevation knob. Blade front sight w/ protective ears. All major parts markings are "SA". Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked on left side over trigger guard w/ faint boxed "SA E. McF." crossed cannons. Partial encircled "P" proof under grip. "27" rack no. at heel & tiny crossed cannons at end of grip. Green webs sling. CONDITION: stock set has well worn original finish w/ staining & handling marks throughout. Metal has arsenal rework dark parkerized finish w/ moderate wear & thinning. S# enhanced w/ white.
