MATCH M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 5873470. Bbl. 24" marking on right side included "SA F6535448 P" proof 4 point star "9 54 A215A P" proof & defense acceptance eagle. Bbl. is inscribed on left side behind front sight "NM". Rear sight aperture marked "NM", aperture made w/out hood. Windage knob marked "DRC". Elevation knob marked "NF". Front sight is marked on right side "NM" & "062". This rifle shows little if any use w/ original wood & metal finish & is a fine example of a National Match Garand. Bolt is marked "SA". Operating rod marked "IHC". Gas cyl. is marked on bottom behind stacking swivel "NM" & marked w/ "1" at bottom of bayonet lug. Cyl. has "HI HUMP". Unmarked single slot gas cyl. lock screw. All trigger group markings are "SA". Stamped trigger guard. Trigger housing & bottom plate plus buttstock marked in white "3470" to match S#. Very fine appearing walnut stock set. Handguards are fitted solidly. Buttstock is marked on left side by box defense acceptance eagle & marked under grip w/ encircled "P" proof. Tan leather 1907 military sling w/ steel hooks marked "?SCO" dated "1944". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: white plastic muzzle & sight protector. CONDITION: stock set has crisp markings & very light wear & handling marks over original finish. Stock has professionally applied arsenal quality glass bedding neatly done in the correct areas. Metal retains 95% plus original parkerized finish w/ very light high point wear. Near excellent shiny bore. Sling is in very good serviceable condition.
