DESLONGCHAMDS UNDERNEATH IS M.H.G. 1950 ( MONTREAL HOMEGUARD). 3 PIECE FULL MILITARY SMOOTH WOOD STOCKS. STRAIGHT GRIP. SMOOTH STEEL BUTT PLATE # 214. SWIVELS WITH COMMERCIAL SLING. FRONT BAND WITH BAYONET LUG. BLUEING SHOWS SOME WEAR AND HANDLING MARKS. STOCK SHOWS SOME HANDLING MARKS. , SERIAL # 165359 , ACTION: LEVER ACTION RIFLE , BARREL LENGTH: 26" , CONDITION: 7/10 , CLASS: CANADIAN NON RESTRICTED CLASS. CONSIGNOR STATES, "There were only estimated 2500 of these Savage muskets produced, and approx 850 were purchased for the Montreal Home Guard by the members. All of these were engraved with an issue number and many had the owner’s name engraved. This rifle is in very good condition, with a small crack at the top of the stock behind the receiver. With original sling. It is engraved with rack number 213 on top butt plate tang, and GEO A DESLONGCHAMPS MGH 1915 on right receiver wall. There is a December 1916 CEF enlistment record for a George Deslongchamps born in February 1989 in Quebec, listing 16 months prior military service in Quebec. A piece for the Savage 99 or Canadian military collector."
