28.5" overall, 24" blade marked S&K on ricasso. Leather sheath mounted with brass tip and brass throat with spade shaped frog button, tag: "Bayonet issued to the Confederate Marines". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 1987 letter for navy collector stating identical example in Confederate Naval Museum, Columbus, GA, made for Enfield rifle. Also included in lot is 1979 published "Service Records of Confederate Enlisted Marines" by Ralph Donnelly & 1st edition & numbered 1965 Ruth Duncan book "The Captain and Submarine CSS H.L. Hunley".CONDITION: good to very good overall. Gray blade with scattered pitting & staining, brass handle missing locking spring. Sheath shrunk so about ½" gap between throat & iron crossguard.
