Rowan & Martin's Laugh In (1967-1973) Theresa Graves Logo Costume
This costume was worn by actress Teresa Graves in “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In”. The outfit consists of a bright multi-colored vinyl tailcoat, matching pants, and a sleeveless button front cotton blouse with bright yellow neckerchief. The jacket and pedal pusher pants have repeating “Laugh-In” logos and were custom made for the actress by famed Hollywood tailor Cotroneo. Both garments have the original tailoring labels sewn inside with the name “Teresa Graves” clearly typed. The neckerchief, blouse, and pants were sewn together for “quick change” purposes on the show. Ms. Graves wore the garments in the fifth season of the series during the “It’s Good To Be Back On Laugh-In” musical sequence that included other cast members wearing matching outfits and featured singer Tiny Tim. A similar costume (without jacket) that was worn by cast member Goldie Hawn is currently on display at the Planet Hollywood Cafe in Las Vegas, Nevada. “Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In” ran from 1967 – 1973 and featured a rotating all-star cast along with guest star appearances by all the top entertainers of the era. The groundbreaking series received numerous awards and nominations over the course of its impressive six-year run, including Emmy Awards for Outstanding Musical or Variety Program, Outstanding Musical or Variety Series, Outstanding Writing Achievement in Music or Variety, Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Variety or Music, as well as a Golden Globe Award for Best TV Show. The garments are in good screen used condition and are accompanied by a letter of authenticity from the costume house.
