This example was originally manufactured in 1918 as a Colt 1911 Government Model and was subsequently assembled, engraved and gold inlaid. The frame, slide, thumb safety and slide stop have nicely executed floral scroll engraving. There is a gold inlay border on the frame, slide, slide stop and thumb safety with the Rampant Colt and "COLT" on the right side of the "NATIONAL MATCH" slide serial number 199,901. The trigger, slide stop, thumb safety and hammer are casehardened. Fitted with a pair of ivory grips with both carved with a flying eagle. With a glass lid hardwood display case lined with red fabric. Comes with a certificate of Authenticity of custom hand engraving by Master Engraver Ron P. Nott and two extra stainless steel magazines with Wilson Combat floor plates that have been engraved with "1923-1" and "1923-2".

Condition: Professionally embellished, 99% plus blue finish remains with some minor handling marks. The casehardened components retain 99% case colors. The grips are fine with some age cracks at the bottom of both panels. The case is excellent with some minor marks.
