A pair of Roman glass pendants from the Holy Land, c. 1st - 3rd Century AD, one in deep yellow, the other in a yellow-green glass, both depicting a lion standing to right, looking back at a star and crescent above. 1.7 x 2.4 cm & 1.7 x 2.8mm. One with loop re-attached and nice iridescence. These bring to mind the popular "Star of Bethlehem" Roman coin type from Antioch, in this case a ram (symbol of City) leaping and looking back at star above. Ex Los Angeles private collection.
