Rogers and Spencer .44 caliber percussion U.S. martial issue Civil War period revolver. The revolver remains in good condition, serial number 362. The metal surfaces show a light cleaning with traces of blue in areas where protected. There is some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting along with some heavier pitting in the rear area of the frame on the left side. There are some marks from being incorrectly cleaned and some grip marks on the cylinder. There is traces of case hardening on the hammer and loading lever. The pistol shows small “H B” inspections and a small star on the frame. The grips show an outline of a cartouche with many notches on the back of the right grip and a couple of small areas of wood filler withsome light cleaning or sanding. The address on the top of the frame is good and clear. The action is good and the bore is bright remaining in near excellent condition with very strong rifling. William A.
