Remington percussion period conversion to carbine, likely by a frontier gunsmith who ingeniously incorporated a Volcanic wooden shoulder stock into this modification, .38 cal., 19-3/4” octagon barrel, grey patinafinish, , #NVSN. This gun is in overall good condition showing a grey patina on metal surfaces, old nicks and mars from use and carry, dark bore, good action, no visible address or markings on top barrel flat, goodgrips with mars and scratches, very good shoulder stock that attaches via a screw at the back of the frame and with an iron rod that is secured to the rear portion of the butt strap; hammer shows an old repair andre-positioning; cylinder pin is an old replacement. An interesting old piece with lots of character. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
