Remington over/under derringer, last variation, with monoblock barrels, made without rib. Remington UMC address. Finely period deluxe engraved, pearl grips, inscribed “MM” on barrels and butt inscribedAJ Pashang, who was a priest of the Catholic foreign mission society and served in China. Serial #L75481. In its original to the period felt and fancy crushed satin-lined rosewood case. Illustrated in color, page 95, TheRemington Double Derringer by Drummond, Johnson, Etc. The derringer retains 90-95% original silver plate with light gold wash, some slight peeling at the edges of the butt and backstrap but completely uncleaned withexcellent pearl grips. Interior shows no firing or use. The patina is completely uncleaned, plating unpolished. The interior of the case is very good plus to near fine, just slightly dusty. The original key isretained, exterior very good. Possibly the finest engraved monoblock derringer known to collectors and bearing some interesting history. Est: $7,000 - $14,000
