Remington model 1891 Navy-framed target model, 10” half round half octagon barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood stocks, .32 S&W centerfire, serial #1558. Lowest number known in series, and one of two surveyed in this caliber. Refer Remington Rolling Block Pistols by Jerry Landskron page 131. The pistol shows Remington address on left bottom of frame, P/FCW inspection marks on lower right side of frame. Barrel shows 90-95% original blue, some minor scratches, light erosion, pinprick pitting just starting, and some light wear at the muzzle and edges. The frame shows 50-70% original case hardening drifting to silvery grey, with some very good colors, particularly on the right side. There is some darkening and slight erosion on the left side. The grips are very good plus to near fine with sharp edges, minor handling, and storage type marks. The original front and rear sight are retained. The action is tight, the bore is near excellent.
