Remington model 1890 single action, .44-40 caliber, frontier era revolver. 7-1/2” barrel, blued finish, hardrubber grips, serial #1755. The revolver remains in original very good condition with 20-40%original blue finish that is evenly drifting and toning to a pleasing patina. There is some scattered light erosion and pinprick pitting with some very bright traces of blue where protected. The markings are sharp, edges fairly crisp. German silver front sight has been slimmed just a little. The hardrubber grips have drifted to a brownish natural patina. The right grip has a large chip from the heel, otherwise grips are verygood. The hammer shows traces of case hardening, the bore is very good and still bright. The action is working and cocking but the safety notch needs recutting. An attractive and completely untouched original1890. Est: $2,500 - $5,000
