Remington model 1858 New Model revolver, Rollin-White type conversion to .46 caliber rimfire, blued finish, cartouche wood grips, serial #142291 beneath barrel. Conversion number “4454” stamped on bottom of barrel in front of loading lever, and number “JJ11” stamped on rear left side of loading lever in front of cylinder pin. The cylinder shows the Rollin-White 1855 patent date and is numbered “65” on the front of the cylinder. The right side of the barrel and frame are marked with what may be a “G5” or “C5”. Also, the right side of the frame has been mounted with a ejector rod housing and the loading lever is slotted for an ejector rod head of the Remington type, which is missing. The revolver retains 30-60% original blue. Most of the finish remaining on the right, drifting on the left side of barrel and cylinder. Some scattered light to moderate pitting and some slightly heavier pitting on the cylinder in a few places. The edges fairl sharp and crisp. The barrel address light. The grips are good to very good with a light outline of cartouche and just some minor wear. The action is tight, the bore is near excellent. Refer Flayderman 5E-019. A significant and desirable
