For bidding in this lot is a finely sporterized version of the US made Remington Enfield Model 1917, chambered in .458 Win Mag. The .458 Win Mag was a popular re chamber cartridge for African hunters looking for an inexpensive big game rifle. Remington and Eddystone (a subsidiary of Remington set up principally to manufacture the P14) began to manufacture this model when the US entered the war in 1917. This example features a 5-round stripper fed magazine, sporterized mannlicher walnut stock, contrasted by an exceptional 21" blue'd barrel. The rifle features a Williams rear adjustable sight complimented by fixed front sight. The rifle is marked "U.S Model of 1917 Remington" on the receiver. This rifle shows good condition. The rifle also shows a tight action, bright bore and crisp detailed rifling. Serial Number: 402645. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check.
