Manufactured from 1912 to 1935, the top of the barrel rib is marked "REMINGTON ARMS - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y." and the serial number is on the bottom of the barrel. The derringer is fitted with smooth two piece pearl grips. Complete with a scarce two piece original maroon factory box with end label that rears "Remington - UMC / DOUBLE DERRINGER / BLUED .41 Cal. Short Rim Fire / REMINGTON ARMS WORKS. ILION, N.Y., U.S.A." on the Remington UMC circle to the left. The inside of the lid has the correct "Directions For Loading" label. Also comes with 10 original 41 caliber short rimfire cartridges with "U" head stamp.

Condition: Very fine. The derringer retains 75% plus original high polished blue finish with some flaking on the frame sides and grip straps. The exposed areas show a smooth brown patina. The barrel release lever retains 97% of the original bright niter blue finish. The grips are also very fine with a few cuts and scratches on the upper right panel, a smooth chip on the lower right side and overall mild handling marks. The barrel marking is sharp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The box is good with heavy edge wear, some flaking of the outer paper cover and end label, and some minor stains on the inside.
