Remington Rolling Block rifle, extensively period scroll engraved, .44 cal., 35” round barrel with integral bayonet lug on right side at muzzle; blue and nickel finish, deluxe select wood stocks, sling swivels andcleaning rod. This gun is in overall fine condition showing the majority of its period finish, some scattered spots of pin prick pitting on the barrel, fine bore, crisp action, sharp markings and overall fine woodshowing scattered old mars and scratches from storage with outstanding flame graining to the butt stock; the engraving on this rifle is finely accomplished and covers not only the receiver but also the hammer, rollingblock butt plate, trigger guard, barrel bands and breech area of the barrel; formerly in the Jack Appel collection.
