'No 3 Mk 1*r' British military magazine fed bolt action service rifle chambered in .303 British, manufactured in the United States circa 1914-1916. Imported by C.A.I. of St. Albans, V.T. with import marks on the underside of the barrel. Features a blued finish, 26" barrel, shrouded patridge front sight, receiver mounted flip-up latter style aperture sight graduated to 1,600 yards, volley sights, metal forend cap/barrel band with bayonet lug & piling swivel, serrated trigger, internal 6 round box magazine, manual safety on the right side of the receiver, bent bolt handle, charge loading guide cuts in the receiver, tan canvas sling smooth wood handguard, finger grooved forend and straight grip shoulder stock with brass disc & metal trapdoor buttplate. The stock is marked with a [broad arrow]/a circled"IR/1914" & "*." The bolt is marked with a "*" and the receiver is marked with a "RE" inside an oval/"*" & has various English proofs. The receiver & floorplate exhibits approximately approximately 70% of their thinned blued finish white the barrel, barrel bands & trigger guard have predominantly turned to brown patina.
