Manufactured from 1868 to 1888. The top barrel flat is marked "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION. N.Y." behind of the rear sight. Brass blade front and adjustable rear sporting sights. The matching serial number is marked on the lower tang and bottom barrel flat under the forearm. The barrel is marked "44" on the bottom. Blue barrel, niter blue breechblock, hammer and trigger, casehardened remaining metal parts and mounted with a smooth forearm with an iron forend insert, and straight grip stock with iron carbine style buttplate.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 75% original blue finish with a smooth plum patina on the balance. The receiver retains 40% original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the trigger guard and lower tang. The wood is fine with some scattered minor dings and dents. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
