Manufactured from 1888 to 1897. Blade front and adjustable semi-buck horn rear sight with one line address ahead of the rear sight. The bottom barrel flat is marked "38.55 B&M" ahead of the forearm and the matching serial number "12/77" in front of "1383" and "2130" under the forearm. The left side of the receiver is marked with the six line patent dates. Blue barrel, breech block, trigger, and hammer with casehardened frame, trigger guard and buttplate. Mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with horn forend insert and straight grip stock with steel carbine style buttplate.

Condition: Very fine. The barrel retains 95% original blue finish with some streaks of plum patina. The breech block and hammer retain most of the period nitre blue finish with some minor thinning on the hammer. The receiver retains 70% plus original case colors with some areas faded to gray and the trigger guard shows 30% original case colors with some light oxidation and a smooth dove gray on the balance. The wood is also very fine 98% original varnish remaining, with a chip on the forearm at the breech, a few around the screw hole, and overall a few minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent
