Remington New Model Navy revolver converted to .38 caliber center-fire, 6-shot cylinder, serial #184 on bottom of barrel. The conversion is of factory type with recoil plate and loading gate added to back of frame. Newly made factory cylinder and added ejector on right side of frame. The revolver also shows a Navy anchor proof at breech end of barrel, probably a returned martial that was converted and sold civilian. The barrel retains 75-85% original blue that is fairly bright, just starting to drift and tone with some scratches, minor mars at the edges. The frame shows traces of original blue going to brown. The percussion loading lever shows 80% original blue matching nicely to the barrel. The cylinder shows traces of original blue. The frame has gone mostly to a brown patina with traces of blue. The cylinder shows 30-40% blue drifting to a brown patina matching the frame. There is an index line between the cylinder stops and some scattered storage type mars, nicks, and scratches. The grips are just good with some wear at the edges, small losses at each toe and heel, and some general wear. The barrel address is sharp, action good, interior bright and shows little use, just carry
