Remington Model 30 express sporting rifle in 30 government 1906 caliber, serial number 14232. The rifle shows 30% to 50% original blue evenly drifting and toning to a natural light gray patina. The stock shows wear and use and is fair to good with a couple of small losses, dings, mars and scratches and normal aging. The original butt plate is retained. The rear of the action is mounted with a Western marked receiver sight that is patent pending. The action is good, the bore is good to very good and may clean. These early sporting rifles by Remington utilized a 1917 Enfield style commercial action and current high-grade gunsmiths rate them highly for conversion to big-game sporting calibers.
