Remington Model 1875 single action revolver in .44-40 caliber showing considerable original bright blue finish and varnished wood grips, serial number 764. This Remington shows 50% to 70% bright original blue finish which is aging nicely with losses of finish at high points and edges. The metal surfaces are sharp and crisp. The markings are all well-defined with a near perfect barrel address. The German silver front sight is its full original height and dimensions. The hammer shows 50% to 70% case hardened colors. The grips are very good plus showing just slight darkening and natural aging. The ejector rod and cylinder release pin areoriginal and show no marks from mistreatment. The action is crisp, the bore is bright and near excellent. The 1875 is hard to find with high percentage of blue remaining as most were nickel plated. Est.: $3,500-$7,000.
