Also known as the Improved Army Revolver, the Remington Model 1875 was produced from 1875 to 1889, and served as a rival to Colt's SAA. Though the Colt had a decisive advantage in government contracts, it is known that an order of 639 Remingtons was placed by the Department of the Interior to arm the Indian Police working the western reservations. The exact markings used on these revolvers remains unverified. Fixed sights, with the one line E. Remington address running from breech to muzzle, "44" on the left side of the frame and "1252" on the loading gate. Fitted with a pair of smooth ivory grips.
BBL: 7 1/2 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 44-40
