Remington Model 1816 rifle, Maynard priming device conversion to percussion, .70 cal., 42” barrel, bright finish, wood stock, sling swivels, lock plate and upper tang dated 1857. This gun is in overall good conditionshowing a cleaning to metal surfaces that also show some scattered spots of pin prick pitting; breech is P proofed and shows the eagle head inspection stamp; ramrod present, trigger guard is stamped “SD”; partialinspector’s cartouche on left side of stock above trigger assembly; wood is overall good with scattered nicks, mars and scratches from carry and storage; lightly marked “T L” initials on left side of butt stock, goodaction, Maynard priming device working, replaced nipple.
