Remington-Keene Frontier Model magazine bolt-action rifle, .45-70 cal., 24” round barrel, blue finish, wood half stock, sling swivels, #U.S.I.D 116. This model was made for the U.S. Dept. of the Interior to arm the Indian Police in 1880-1881; this gun is in overall fine condition showing approx. 60% original blue finish, correct inspection marks on the left side of the barrel and receiver of H.N and top of receiver, P, W.W.K and a broad arrow; fine bore, crisp action, overall very good to fine wood stock with clear inspector’s cartouche on the left side of the stock’s wrist and some scattered wear and mars from carry and storage. One of thebetter conditioned USID Remingtons we have seen and highly collectible. Est.: $2,500-$5,000.
