Remington-Beals Navy percussion revolver, martially-marked, .36 cal., 7-1/2” octagon barrel, blue finish, wood grips, #14728 in overall very good to near fine condition showing considerable muted original blue finish, crisp action, sharpmarkings, fine bore and very good + grips with crisp inspector’s cartouche on left grip, just some knackering on the butt from old hammering; “J” inspector’s initials on barrel, frame and cylinder, “C” on frame; per Flayderman’s, only400-500 of this Model were sold to the U.S. Army and bear martial markings; specimens are quite scarce and should fall within the serial range of 13,000 to 15,000 which this one does and is in exceptional condition; accompanied by a two piececardboard box with end label “REMINGTON BEAL’S PATENT NAVY REVOLVER”.
