Introduced in 1948, this example was produced in June of 1950, according to the barrel code. The Sportsman 48 was a variant of the Model 11-48, designed to have a 3 round capacity. Ivory front and nickel mid bead sights on the vent rib, with the patent information on the right side of the barrel and the gauge, 2 3/4" chamber and "SKEET" markings on the reverse, and a choke measuring "cylinder". Fitted with a fine walnut stock, showing a diamond pattern checkering on the beavertail forearm, with skip-line borders and accents, checkering on the pistol grip with a duck design on the cap, 14 inch length of pull and a serrated Remington buttplate.
