Remington 36 caliber revolving rifle, with extra heavy octagon barrel, blue and case-hardened finish, serial #533. The barrel measures 26” and nearly 11/16” across the heavier than standard muzzle. The barrel protrudes slightly on each side of the frame. The barrel retains approx. 50-60% original blue that is toning and drifting to brown with some marks at the bottom side from poor removal of cylinder pin and some light erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The frame and loading lever show 20-30% case hardening within a brown to grey patina with some areas of rainbow colors showing through. The left side of the frame shows a casting flaw or a crack. The cylinder shows 50-60% thinning original blue. The triggerguard shows 10-20% original silver plate that is darkening. The buttplate shows 20-30% darkening silver plate, the varnish wood stocks are very good plus and show 75% original varnish, some scratches, dings, mars, which are mostly in the varnish. The action is good, the original sights are retained. The bore is very good. An unusual and possibly unique Remington revolving rifle. Est: $6,000 - $12,000
