Remington 1861 Army Model percussion revolver, .44 cal., 8” octagon barrel, wood grips, #6060 in overall good to very good condition showing a grey/brown patina on metal surfaces with some scattered erosion and pinprick pitting, crispaction, very good bore, good barrel address, very good grips with visible remnants of inspector’s cartouche on left grips; inspection marks as follows: P on left side of frame above hammer screw, CR on cylinder at rear between two nipplewells, P and R on left barrel flat at breech, P on brass trigger guard below securing screw and C stamped on bottom of each wood grip. The gun is accompanied by a two piece cardboard box with end label marked “REMINGTON MODEL 1861 ARMY REVOLVER”and also contains a brass powder flask with dog and game bird motifs. A desirable Remington Model which Flayderman’s estimates 6,000 were produced circa 1862. (Antique). Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
