This is a beautiful etching, after Rembrandt, by master engraver Amand Durand. Titled "THE OMVAL" (year of original 1645). The Omval, seen across the water, is the stroke of land between the Amstel River and the Diemermeer. Notice the lovers secluded in the shade of the trees. Signed and dated in the plate. This piece is in excellent condition, and has never been framed. Measurements: image size is 8" x 9" on 14" x 15" Somerset paper. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Ref. #209 according to the British Catalogue, circa 1797, is a hand pulled-ETCHING from the AUTHENTIC & Original copper Rembrandt plates by Armand-Durand (1831-1905) overseen by Art World Industries, inc.
