Rare pair of National .41 caliber rimfire derringers, similar to #2 Colts. The pair are silver plated, show fancy checkered ivory grips. Serial #8637 and 8645. The pair show 80-90% original silver that has darkened to a bluish patina that is completely unpolished and uncleaned in modern times. The original ivory grips are deluxe checkered and show fancy escutcheons which follow the pattern of the checkering. The hammers show 75-85%toning case hardening, the edges are sharp, the markings are crisp, the original small parts and extractors are retained. The interiors are at least very good and one pistol is not holding on full cock. The bestpair of National engraved derringers we have seen for sale in at least a decade and would be considered rare.
