Rare extension magazine for 1903 Springfield with removable top-plate, manufactured in WWI era. This magazine increases the 1903’s capacity to 20 rounds by removing the floorplate and inserting this box magazineand follower. The device was intended for increased firepower in the trenches and also theorized possible anti-aircraft use from plane to plane. The magazine remains in fine to near excellent condition with just someslight toning, no evidence of being used or installed, 90-95% original blue, in unmarked original shipping box.
