Rare Winchester Model 1873 2nd model special order rifle in .44-40 caliber with 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, set trigger, sling swivels, silver trim, sporting and beech sights, received in the warehouse October 14, 1880 shipped from the warehouse October 14, 1880 to order number 22219 with factory letter confirming configurations. The barrel and magazine tube show 30% to 50% original blue turning to a brownish patina with some scattered light to moderateerosion and pinprick pitting mixed in. The frame, trigger, hammer and butt plate show old heavy silverplate. The platting on the rifle is aged and worn in the right spots from use but may have been re-plated long ago during use. The stocks are fair to good with dings, mars, scratches, some dents and some losses. The markings are good, the bore is fair and has seen a lot of use. Just the type plated rifle that was ordered by Buffalo Bill and Wild West Shows. Est.: $14,000-$28,000
