This variation is the rarest of all military P38 pistols and the first Walther pistol to use the "ac" code, with a total production of only about 2,700. This variation is marked "P.38 ac" and the serial number on the left side of the slide, absent of any date. The left side of the frame is marked with the serial number followed by an "eagle / 359" proof and the left upper front of the trigger guard is marked "ac". The right side of the slide toward the rear is marked with the German firing proof flanked by "eagle / 359" proof marks. The locking block is marked "640", and the sides have the correct proof marks, as well as the number "5" on the left side. Most small parts are marked with the "eagle / 359" proof mark. Fixed sights, blue magazine stamped "8640 +" on the lower left side and two "eagle/359" proofs stamped on the lower spine. Fitted with two piece rust colored Bakelite grips with a rounded lanyard ring on the left side heel. Complete with a black leather flap holster marked "jhn / 1942" "eagle / WaA 145" and "p.38" on the back and extra matching magazine marked the same as the first minus the "+" behind the serial number.

Condition: Professionally restored with 99% blue finish remaining, with wear limited with very minor muzzle wear. Overall there are a few light handling marks. The grips are excellent with a few light dings and handling marks, and showing very little wear. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent. The holster is very good overall with light wear and tight stitching. A nicely restored Walther "ac" Code No Date pistol with two matching magazines.
