This large powder flask measures approximately 9 inches long and is known as the Walker and Whitneyville-Hartford flask (see Robin Rapley's book COLT ACCOUTREMENTS 1834-1911" pages 65). The double face flask has the following raised motif: Texas and U.S. flags as the backdrop with military arms including a cannon and mortar above crossed Paterson rifles and crossed Walker revolvers above "COLTS PATENT" in a banner. The charger is the plunger type, has suspension rings and the swivel cover is marked "COLT'S/PATENT" in a shallow oval.
