Rare Prototype "H.P.C." Serial #2 Single Shot Pistol

Except of the serial number "2" stamped on the barrel, rear sight and a number of times on the frame, "H.P.C.", which is stamped on the left side of the barrel, is the only marking. "HPC" has yet to be identified. This pistol has a shape reminiscent of the pistols made by the workmen at Winchester but the initials have not been matched with any of the people known to have made those guns. The action is similar to the Remington Vest Pocket Pistol with the hammer also acting as a combination breech block and firing pin. The grips are also similar to the grip design found on the Remington Vest Pocket Pistol. The back of the grips are stamped with the number "2" with the left panel hand marked "L/2" and the right panel hand marked "R/2."

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% original nickel finish with a smooth gray patina on the balance. The rear sight is missing some parts. The grips are excellent with light scratches. Mechanically excellent.
