Rare Model 98 Mauser, 243 maker coded, 1940 dated, with experimental bakelite composite stock, serial #9637. The metal surfaces show an old re-blued finish of which about 80% remains, drifting on the action, some pitting on the barrel; proofs defaced on left side of receiver, possibly when captured. The stock shows 3 proofs at the center right, 2 proofs at the bottom of the stock and there is an aluminum minor in the sling slot, withperiod leather sling and muzzle cover included. The stock shows a leather gasket type recoil pad with a metal plate. The bolt safety and magazine floorplate do not match. The action is good, the bore is very good. Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries. International buyers agree to pay all cost incurred including all shipping, insurance, exporter fees, all custom and duty fees associated with shipment. Post 1898 firearms must be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensee in your place of residence. All Federal, State and Local Regulations apply and MUST be strictly followed.
