Blank chamber with the "DWM" monogram on the correct salt finish toggle assembly. "Crown/U" Oberndorf proofs on barrel underside and left side of barrel extension and breech block. The "crown /U" proof was sometimes referred to as the Mauser Oberndorf proof and generally is only found on arms made by Mauser at the Oberndorf plant. The extractor and upper safety position are marked "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT" respectively. The matching serial number is found on the front of the frame and on the bottom of the barrel. Straw colored small parts, unmarked plated magazine with wooden base and fitted with checkered walnut grips, each stamped "04" on the inside. Complete with a leather flap holster stamped "1404" on the back and stamped "1935 / AWN / 2" on the upper inside and handmarked "R D PALMER" on the inside of the flap. Also comes with an extra unmarked blue magazine with wooden bottom and takedown tool numbered to the gun.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 1404v
Condition: Fine as partially refinished, the side plate, left side of the frame and straw colors. The side plate and left side of the frame are a mix of blue finish and smooth plum patina. The remainder of the pistol retains 40% original finish with overall minor pitting on the barrel, high edge wear, some flaking and wear on the grip straps, with areas of smooth gray patina. 30% of the straw color remains and the safety lever is bent and shows some minor pitting. The grips are good with some moderate wear, a few minor dings and bruises, with crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically fine. The holster is very good. The back is brown and the balance black. There is some minor scuffing and flex cracks, and all the stitching is tight. This is a highly desirable variation of Luger pistol and is seldom found in any condition, let alone with a matching holster!
