Rare Hawaii Shipped Colt Bisley Flattop Target Model Revolver with Factory Letter

Estimate: $13000 - 18000
Manufactured in 1910. This is one of only 976 Bisley Flattop Target Model revolvers that were manufactured; surviving examples are scarce in any condition. Of the 976 Flattop Bisleys manufactured, only 96 were chambered in 38 Colt caliber. The revolver has the distinctive Bisley target grip with special, "flattop" frame with a dove-tailed target rear sight and removable front sight brass blade. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 COLT" on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, "Target or Flatop" frame with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to E.O. Hall & Son Ltd. Honolulu, Hawaii on December 6, 1910. Accompanying the revolver is a photograph of the E.O. Hall & Son building as it was burning in the early 1900s and a photograph of the rebuilt building.
