Manufactured in 1938. The barrel has early markings on the top ("COLT'S PT.F.A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A ./PAT.D DEC. 22, 1903. AUG. 27, 1918. SEP. 3, 1918") with Patridge type blade front sight and King adjustable target rear sight. The left side of the barrel has the large circular target with the words "MATCH" and "TARGET" above and below the target, next to "THE WOODSMAN" on the frame. The left side of the slide is marked "COLT", and "AUTOMATIC/CAL. .22 LONG RIFLE" followed by the Rampant Colt. It has the correct two tone Colt Match Target magazine that is marked "COLT WOODSMAN/CAL. 22 L.R./MATCH TARGET MOD." Fitted with period replacement walnut target style grips which wrap around the front grip strap and around the lower portion of the back with a thumb rest and coarse checkering. Henshaw trigger shoe marked for the Colt Match Target. Included is an original maroon hinged lid box with original and correct labels for the gun, period instruction sheets, what appear to be the original hang tags, an extra Colt two tone finish magazine marked "CAL. 22/COLT" and an old copper cleaning rod.

Condition: Excellent 96% original Colt blue finish, having some minor scratches and some patina on the rear of the grip frame and bottom of the trigger guard. The grips are excellent showing some minor handling. The box is intact with some tape repairs to the corners and sides.
