Manufactured by W.L. Evans of Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. This pistol is one of the less than 1,000 manufactured by Evans in 1830-31. These pistols were identical to the Model 1826 made by Simeon North. The lock is marked "US/W.L. EVANS" ahead of the hammer and dated "1830" behind the hammer. The breech end of the barrel is marked "LS/recessed "P" and "US". Brass front sight blade and oval rear sight on the tang. The pistol is equipped with a swivel ramrod and a steel belt hook on the left side of the stock. The lock plate is flat and beveled forward of the hammer and rounded at the rear. The lock has a brass pan without fence.

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have been cleaned bright and remain bright with some mottling and discoloration. The stock has been sanded some time ago and remains good with a small minor crack radiating from the rear left side plate, some splintering around the lock and a few minor dents. Markings are clear. The action is fine.
