This is a nice example of a early pre-war Krieghoff "S" code German Luger as manufactured in limited quantities for the Luftwaffe, (approximately 4,500). The top of the chamber is marked with the large "S" code" indicating manufacture in 1936. The pistol is an early production variation marked with the "H / K" on each side of the Krieghoff Anchor with only "SUHL", below that on the toggle. It has the typical military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the front frame, the left side of the barrel extension, with the last two digits "92" on the side plate, rear toggle assembly and takedown lever. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with two "droop stick wing/2" Luftwaffe inspection marks flanking a droop stick wing Luftwaffe firing proof. The bottom of the barrel is marked with the bore dimension "8,82" and a single Luftwaffe inspection proof. The firing proof is marked on the left side of the breechblock. "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" marked safety and extractor. Blue finish with straw colored small parts, niter blue grip screws and magazine release, fixed sights, stock lug and fitted with an original set of early checkered brown plastic grips. Nickel magazine with aluminum base numbered to the gun and marked with the "eagle/2" proofmark. Complete with Swiss Luger takedown tool marked with a boxed "SA".
