This is a very nice example of a Mauser Oberndorf Nazi Police Luger pistol. This pistol as noted is accompanied with the original capture documents, which identifies this pistol by serial number. This model of luger has a mix of both left over parts from the DWM factory that were used along with new production Mauser parts to assemble several small contract pistols for the early Nazi Police and Army. In the new book "The Mauser Parabellum" by Hallock and Van De Kant, on page 350 they identify a small block of 90 lugers as the first block of pistols issued to the early Nazi Police in the serial number range of (SN 33v-1332v) which they termed 1934 Oberndorf Models. This example falls into the end of that block. The top of the toggle is marked with "DWM" for Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken and the left side of the barrel extension, the underside of the barrel and left side of the breech block, are stamped with a slightly larger more stylized Crown over "U" proof with no other proof marks on the pistol. This specific pistol still has the sear bar over the side plate. It has the correct military style serial number placement on the various parts and has one nickel-plated wood base magazine that is stamped in the Police fashion with a "1/6216". This pistol is complete with an original WWII black leather Police holster that is marked on the back; "FRANZ COBAU/BERLIN/1935" over the large Police Sunburst "K" proof mark. In the upper right hand corner it has the unit markings of "S.B. 7505 (which has been stamped out) and renumbered below that with a second number "8104", which was also scrapped over and now restamped with 1204.
