Manufactured in 1875, one year in advance of the Philadelphia Centennial Exposition in which Colt displayed arms like this. This revolver features floral scroll and punch dot engraving covering the barrel, cylinder flats, top strap, frame and top of the back strap. There is a punch dot design around the front sight and a floral design on the side plate. (All of this delicate scroll is typical of Gustave Young). The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address, "30 CAL" on the butt and the matching serial number is marked on the butt, bottom of the barrel and on the rear face of the cylinder. Blade front and frame notch rear sights. The revolver is finished in nickel, the cylinder, cylinder pin, hammer and trigger gold plated, and niter blue screws. Fitted with smooth pearl grips.
