Manufactured in 1953. This pistol was 1 of an order of 2,500 pistols sold to the U.S. Marine Corps in the same year. Half of the pistols in the order were shipped to the Marine Corps Supply Annex, Barstow, California on June 30th with the other half being shipped to the Marine Corps Supply Depot at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina on July 17th. The left side of the barrel is marked with the one line address, the left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt over "WOODSMAN", the left side of the slide is marked "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE" and the right side of the frame is marked "USMC PROPERTY" over the serial number. Ramped blade front and adjustable rear target sights, serrated trigger, blue Colt marked magazine, lanyard slot on the heel and fitted with checkered black plastic grips with right hand thumb rest and the Rampant Colt in a circle on the right top.

Condition: Excellent. The pistol retains 90% of the original blue finish with some thinning at the muzzle, grip straps and high edges. The grips are near excellent with some minor dings and scuffs, and crisp checkering. All markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent. U.S.M.C. marked Colts are highly desirable and are seldom encountered.
