Rare Boss single shot derringer barrel marked "pat. Apr. 22 79" invented by J.L. Holt and J.C. Marshall of Springfield, Mass. Mfg by Dexter Smith, son of Horace Smith (of Smith & Wesson fame). One of a few hundred made.Refer Flayderman 8A-030.5. Condition is good to very good with some pitting and erosion, grips good with some small losses around screw hole, good markings. Also refer Doug Eberhart's book on Derringers Vol. 2 forfurther details on this rare American Derringer. Est.; $1,250-$2,500.
