Manufactured in 1906 this is an example of 1 of only 976 Bisley Model Flattop Target revolver manufactured from 1894 to 1913. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address, "(BISLEY MODEL)/COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The "VP" triangle proof is marked on the upper left front of the trigger guard and the letter "T" at the rear. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap. Standard sight configuration, (front blade absent), finished blue with a casehardened hammer, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. It is estimated that only 78 Bisley Flattop Target Models were chambered in the 44-40 caliber.

Condition: Very fine. The revolver retains 60% original blue finish with gray and brown patina on the balance. There is some minor pitting on the outer edge of the ejector housing and on the right side of the frame. The grips have faded to brown and also remain very good with a few light handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Front sight blade is missing. The action is fine.
